What We Do - Acting On Impact - The Alexander Technique

3 . The Alexander Technique

It is in the everyday activities of our busy lives that we accumulate the tensions and stress that get in the way of our enjoyment of life.

Aching backs, hunched shoulders and general fatigue can easily become part of our routine. Through the development of this 100 year-old technique, we can unlearn the patterns of moving and thinking that cause us unnecessary tension and discomfort. Rediscovering forgotten poise and physical ease will promote not only success in performance but well being in life.

Originally developed to reduce the effects of strain on the actor's voice in performance, this method is currently recognised as an essential training tool for anyone involved in giving presentations or dealing with deadlines.

EDC programmes can include lessons in the Alexander Technique from EDC Associate, Kate Kelly, M.S.T.A.T.
